I had a successful hunt tonight, and I have to tout this great gun. The CZ 512 and the 22 mag- it is a great utility gun combo! I have been taking pigs with it for a couple months, it has not let me down. And, it is as handy as it gets. I hit this sow in the shoulder and it really slowed her down, she stumbled, allowing a fast follow up, the neck shot did the job. The semi auto in 22 mag is great for this. Some pigs do take more than one shot, but the gun and the caliber is damned near perfect for fast follow ups. You could easy hunt with something stronger like a .223, but strictly speaking, you don't need to. The 22 mag, as most of you probably know, is a pleasure to shoot. It is basically recoil free. And it packs a punch similar to a 9mm on the other end. It does the job on smallish pigs, I have had a good run, 12 pigs in a row with no loss of wounded animals. I have heard 22 WMR is good on coyotes, I haven't seen that in action, but I can imagine. I was lucky to get one of the 512 carbines when CZ was still making them. I like the 16" barrel. I try to get my ear pro in but if I fail, like I did tonight, it's not awful. I hope you enjoy the pig picture, and the CZ 512.
