CZ-82/83?

The gun's barrel is fixed to the frame , so ya just can't swap them at will. The bullet and case head dia of the 9mm Makarov is bigger than the .380. Not by much , but could cause reliability issues.

One more thing , the commercial CZ-83 has a firing pin block in the slide that the CZ-82 does not.

Thank you, mkk41. This was exactly what I was looking for. By the way, I like the addition of the fiber optic front sight on yours. I know I'll do the same once I acquire a CZ 82 or 83.

Dave

They are great pistols. A little bulky and heavy for carry, but sweeeet shooters. And they have a wonderful trigger....very smooth in DA and very crisp in SA. Only weak spot is the old plastic grip panels. But that's easily remedied with aftermarket grips.

But - and I can only admit this here - I fell in love with a M10-5 with a 4" tapered barrel in nearly 100% condition. So I traded my 82.

No regrets. I just love this old S&W.
