Had my CZ 82 in the 9z18 Makarov out to the range the other day....I needed a reminder of how accurate it is in that caliber and how zippy the cartridge really is!

Very smooth in operation, can carry cocked and locked or with hammer down, ambidextrious magazine release, and just feels quite comforting in my hand.

My 3913 might get a break for a short time...............

Anyone else have this same experience?

Randy

PS. It came with 9 magazines and 450 rounds of ammo in trade for a nice set of Leupold binoculars.

I have several handguns in that caliber, and the CZ 82 is one of the best. I prefer the actual Makarov. Fewer rounds but much simpler and fewer parts. I disassembled the 82 once and hope to avoid that in the future.

I have quite a few 9x18 chambered handguns as well....and the CZ82 is a great choice. Here's mine:

But I understand Inusuit's point as well... I have 4 different standard Makarovs...Russian, East German, Chinese, and Bulgarian.

Here's my Russian Makarov:

I have a lot of faith in my CZ 82, it's nice and pleasant for that round. Plenty of capacity too.

9 mags... have you checked all of them for function? I've read a lot that the originals that came with the gun will be good, the extras that hit the market a couple years ago not so much.

All 9 mags are original CZ production and so far run flawlessly.

I have a CZ 83 in .380 caliber. I've used it several times with the shooting portion of the CCL. It's stamped 1994 on the left side. Great pistol for sure.

Wow, then you really did hit the jackpot.

At the price I've seen true factory mags (not the imitation ones, which do btw have "CZ" marked on them), you'd be able to buy at least one, maybe two more of the pistols.

And then you figure in the ammo...

not a bad haul at all.

Really nice guns. The Czech Makarovs are some of the best with the 12 round magazine. I also like the little Polish Makarovs, quite concealable. My buddy has a Hungarian Makarov with silver alloy frame though I haven't shot it to compare yet.

I started to buy an 82 or 83 several times only to leave a gun shop with some other gun. I thought I'd have time to get one later. Then the price went up. I know how good the guns are but I couldn't bring myself to pay the higher prices after seeing so many for around $200. Great guns. I still regret not buying one.

About eight years ago, I had the same experience. Gander Mountain had one under glass at $240. They seemed to be everywhere for $200-220, so I turned up my nose. Boy, was that a mistake.
