The title is a mouthful but that is what RIA/Armscor calls it. I have an attraction to bottleneck pistol cartridges and have been wanting to try this one out for sometime. The only pistols available come from RIA but the 2 that I have seen before this one just didn't do it for me. The 1911 was more than I wanted to spend and the other that they also call a MAPP MSCS has a rail which for me is a turn off and it's a polymer frame on top of that. During the holidays I was looking around on GB and this one pictured below popped up but it was also a polymer model but in the config that I liked(no rail). I said to myself ok, let's look around on the internet and see what other info I can find on this one. Unfortunately the only pic that I could find was from the GB auction. RIA/Armscor did not even have this listed on their website, all other online stores had this listed as available but no pictures of it or further description. Talk about frustration, I looked for what seemed like days and came up with nothing. I had already bought the ammo from SG in Oklahoma, I finally called my LGS and had them look for the pistol. They found it at one of the distributors and I had them order it for me. I already knew it was a CZ pattern pistol, I just wanted to know who the manufacturer was. Finally I found that exact pistol being sold as the Pavona from Tanfoglio/EAA Witness. The only differences that I found is that the RIA has a slight difference in the slide serrations and also has a fully adjustable LPA MPS2TA06 rear sight. Also, the RIA has Phillipines marked on the frame and if you look at the lower ovals on both sides of the grips you can see where the original designation of the pistol has been removed. The only thing that I would like to be different is for it to be available with a steel frame. It shoots like a dream, soft recoil but it is a fire breather and very loud. The bullet leaves the barrel around 1800-2000 fps. I like it.
