I have a P-01 BD and it's a good shooter. But, it is rather big.
Does anyone here carry a Rami? If so what are your thoughts about it?

Also, the daughters will be using it so comments on grip size and suitability for smaller hands would be helpful.

Also I'd be happy to get suggestions for other subcompact 9s, but not interested in any plastic.

I have a PCR that I love, so I bought a Rami BD thinking it would be a good accompaniment. Unfortunately, I did not care for it. I currently have it listed for sale on SigForum.

The counterman at my range that introduced me to CZ's by letting me try his carry PCR, has now switched to a carrying a RAMI and loves it. I tried his RAMI and liked it, but the grip felt as thick as the PCR, so didn't have an urge to switch, since I was really shopping for a thinner single stack.

I have a great little SIG P-238 that fills the "sub-compact" niche beautifully, though I might wish it were a DA/SA version of the 9mm P-938, which does not exist. :(

If I had a magic wand, I'd make a Rami and PCR single stack version.

I am just curious what you did not like about the CZ RAMI 2075 BD. I have been shopping and reviewing this pistol and I can say
that they are hard to find.

I have two Ramis. One in .40 and one in 9mm. I pocket carry one or the other now and then. The .40 was my daily carry for over a year, but I most often carry a 9mm M&P 2.0 compact these days.

The Rami is a bit large and heavy for pocket carry, but it's manageable for jeans with large pockets and cargos. It's a bit on the thick side for IWB, but works well for OWB. The .40 stings a bit when firing it, but it's not terrible. The 9 is much more pleasant, but the trigger tends to slap a bit and beat up the trigger finger. It's not really made for shooting a lot at the range, but it works for defense.

Both are pretty accurate. CZ recommends changing the recoil spring on the .40 every 500-700 rounds. It's a dual spring setup, and my .40 shipped with a spare large spring which I changed out at about 600 rounds. I've had no malfunctions with either. I'd estimate the .40 now has about 800-900 rounds through it. The 9 a couple thousand without a recoil spring replacement. The .40 and the 9 use the same exact recoil spring assembly.

The .40 is no longer made, and the 9 can be difficult to find. I've been considering taking the .40 to a gunshow and trying to trade it for something else. I really don't need two, and I rarely shoot the .40 any more.

The Rami grip is thick, and I would think it would be challenging for small hands. The trigger reach is typical of other CZ pistols. That is to say that it's a relatively long reach in DA. The standard magazine is a two fingered grip. If that bothers you like it does me it can be fitted with a Pearce grip extension made for Springfield XD with a bit of sanding. I added that to my standard capacity magazines, and it allows a full grip - barely. The extended magazine is more than long enough for a full grip, but of course is not as concealable and a definite no-go for pocket carry.

The Rami fits securely in a DeSantis Nemesis V5 pocket holster. There are several decent OWB and IWB holsters available for it. I have an Alien Gear IWB, and a leather belt slide OWB for mine that I bought on amazon, I don't recall the brand.

The only other subcompact 9s I own are a Sig P938, and an older Taurus 609 - similar to the G2C in size and function. To be honest the Taurus has been more reliable than the Sig. That's been a bit surprising, but it's true. They are both pleasant to shoot. The Taurus is plastic, so rule that out. The Sig, being single stack, is easier to carry IWB or in a pocket holster. I really don't feel comfortable carrying cocked and locked in a pocket, though. Maybe I'm weird, but it seems dangerous to me. I carry the Ramis decocked in the Nemesis pocket holster.

I own 5 CZs, including a P-01 Omega and a standard P-01, but I never warmed up to the RAMI. I really thought I wanted one, but the size and weight of the RAMI just didn't work for me. I already owned a Sig P938 and opted for a Walther P99c AS instead of the RAMI. Really like the 938 and the P99, but I have since purchased a Sig P365. I know you don't want "plastic", but you should consider the 365...absolutely amazing gun!

I've owned a couple RAMI's including a polymer framed stainless slide model. They're great guns, but a little too thick for my idea of an ideal compact 9mm.

I have CZ 75 RAMI. They come in two flavors - the B model with a safety lever and a D model with a decocker.

Below is a CZ 75 Compact (SA/DA with a safety, in Condition 1, cokced and locked) and below it is a CZ 2075 D RAMI (with a de cocking lever, and decocked on a loaded chamber). The RAMI has the shorter 10 round magazine installed.

Below are the same two pistols, but with the CZ 75 Compact with the hammer lowered to the quarter cock position. You'll note it's in nearly the same position as on the decocked D model RAMI.

I find the "B" Model CZs have a trigger reach that is just a bit too long with the hammer all the way down, but the reach is fine in the quarter cocked position. More importantly the safety is too small and too far forward to reach with the thumb on the strong hand, unless you've got really long thumbs, so the B models really are not suitable for SA Condition 1 carry, and I end up carrying them in DA mode with the hammer positioned on the quarter cock notch.

Consequently, when I got a RAMI, I just selected the D model as the trigger is also in the same conveniently shorter position. Below the RAMI has the 14 round magazine with the finger extension. The RAMI will also accept the standard Compact 14 round magazine.

The all steel CZ 75 Compact model is a great range gun, but it's a bit of a boat anchor for concealed carry.

The CZ 2075 D RAMI is almost ideal if you want a DA/SA pistol. It's a bit wider than a 1911, but the overall form factor falls in between the officer model compact 1911s, and the sub compact 1911s in .380 ACP. It is easy to conceal, and the weight of the alloy frame CZ 2075 is also ideal - heavy enough to be very controllable and easy to shoot well with a full power self defense load, but light enough to be easy to carry.

I've tried the Micro 9 and SIG 938 and they just don't have the controllability of the RAMI in rapid fire. In a self defense situation I want to be able to put rounds on target both fast and as accurately as possible.

Holster wise, I carry mine in a Wild Bills Concealment Covert Carry Holster. It's a cross fit, not an exact fit, as it's designed for a similar sized Glock, but it is still an excellent fit. The only fit issue is the excess length but that soon rolls over the end of the slide anyway. It's a tuckable design and works well tucked or untucked.

Overall, I like the RAMI a lot for concealed carry. Mine has been extremely reliable. It's accurate for its class, it's easy to control, and light enough to carry comfortably all day long. The availability of tritium night sights as a standard option is an added plus.

Well, ordered a decocker model off the 'broker (below list :D) so we'll see how this works out.

If the girls like it, I'll order another. The older one is handy with "her" P232,which is an excellent gun, but 10+1 of 9mm beats 7+1 of .380. The younger one is using a Glock 42 with which I have not been terribly impressed.

I'm sure you will like it, and if not you will have no problem selling it.

I have a Tristar C100, which is an aluminum frame copy of the CZ75 Compact. I love it. After swapping the spring for a Cajun Gun Works set, the trigger is bar none one of the best DA/SA triggers I have experienced, and I have a handful of DA/SA classics to include a SIG P229 with the SRT.

That said, I don't carry it all that often because I love my Hi Power too much, and also I need to get a better holster for it.

I consider buying a RAMI from time to time, but guns that small are past the diminishing return point for me. It's not really easier to conceal than my C100, but has less ammo.

If I did get a RAMI, I would get the safety version so I had the option of carrying condition 1 or half-cocked, but if I was buying for someone else I'd get the decocker because I wouldn't want my wife or kids trying to manually decock a gun.

I owned one for awhile, buying it off a very good friend of mine for a CCW. I'm a big CZ fan, and found the gun to be very accurate, built like a tank, and functioned flawlessly. But as a carry gun, since I'm an IWB carrier, I found it extremely uncomfortable. It had some sharpish edges that dug into my, er "spare tire" and that's never a good thing. I dealt with it for about 4 months and sold it.

I have a CZ P-01 Omega. Same size as a Glock 19. I sent it to Cajun Gun Works for their Pro Package and love it. Bigger than a Rami but I think it is a more practical piece.

I like the RAMI

I own a RAMI bd and really like it. It is heavy for its size but I like the weight of it as a DA SA pistol. I also like the extended mag as it provides a full sized grip.

All that being said however, I held a PCR for the first time about a month ago. Without question the PCR feels better in the hand. The contour of the grip feels amazing. However it is larger than the RAMI and would carry differently.

I did not like carrying and shooting my Rami. Double stack subcompact doesn't really make sense to me personally. Too wide for deep concealment and needlessly small for normal carry. I switched to CZ P-07 and P-01 both with full CGW kits, and a Smith CS9 for deep concealment.

I love my RAMI. It took 2 trips to the mfg. to make it feed reliably. It now works great and is reasonably accurate. It fits my medium sized hands very well, but the gun is thick, and all controls are still very stiff after well over 2,000 shoots. I enjoy shooting it.

I now have a Sig p-365. Shoots well; reliable, accurate and is light. Love the sights and trigger; the grip, not so much. Great carry gun.

Love CZ pistols... bought a Rami - TRIED to like it .. just too chunky and didnt feel good in my hand - unless it had the 14 round mag..

which is essentially a P-01...

as one person noted if you buy a Rami you’ll be able to sell it easily as theyre hard to get...

bought a P01 and LOVE it... I carry it IWB with a vedder lighttuck and find it very comfortable... very accurate, robust and reliable... EDC, car, bedside and range.. works well everywhere..

my 2 cents is go with a PCR or P-01... .. as noted - LOVE mine

Good luck w your choice, hard to go wrong w a CZ...!

Bought a RAMI a couple of years ago.
I'm very happy with it. I did have to
up-grade the magazine springs for better feeding.
Going on 3000 rounds without a bobble now. :)
Using 124 FMJ for range fodder and
Federal 124+P HST JHP for carry.
