Just received my order of bullets from SNS 1000/40, 1000/357, 1000/45, 1000/44 and it only took 2 weeks from order date!

Those 1000 projectiles weigh about 16 lbs plus container, packing material, etc. You just can't ship anything that heavy via UPS or FedEx any cheaper nowadays.

They quoted me the USPS medium flat rate shipping at 18 bucks . I use it every day and at commercial pricing the medium flat rate is $11.25 .
Midway is just jacking up the shipping .
When Precision Delta has them in stock they are only $93.00 shipped which is a heck of a lot cheaper than $130.00 Midway quoted .

30 carbine dies

Midway just bumped my HDY M1 30 Carbine dies another 2 months - they were supposed to be available today - I WAS being patient - seems I should have got the Reddings when they were available

It also looks like they have an assortment of rifle bullets in stock. Not an awesome selection but they might have something you were looking for.

EDIT: If anyone is in the central Texas area (Austin metro) and is looking for small rifle 5.56 primers the LGS I go to all of the time has a ton in stock without any limits currently. They also had a handful of 22 cal bullets but they were a little pricey. Not sure how much the primers were but I will ask later today when I stop by on my way home from work. PM me and I can give you more info if you are interested.

Try freedom Munitions for Bullets

I recently was able to get my hands on some copper plated bullets from freedom munitions. They are also very reasonable and shipping is free. I bought some 180 gr. RNFP bullets some 165 RNFP and some 180 gr. Hollow point bullets all copper plated for my 40 Cal. Their website is Ammunition Online at Factory Direct Prices | Freedom Munitions | Handgun Ammo & Rifle Ammo they sell 500 and 1000 round boxes. I think my 165 gr. bullets were $62.95 shipped but don't quote me on it. Awesome company and they ship pretty fast to and send you an email when they are shipped.

Midway had these bullets for a short time 2 months ago. I bought 2000 instead of 1000 and the shipping was only $1.65 more than for 1000. Also, buying 2000 is $11.00 cheaper per thousand. I thought it was a good deal under the present circumstances. They were delivered to my door 2 days after ordering and I've already loaded up about 500 of them.

Is that going to be the std rate these days?

No just your LGS trying to make extra profit. You won't be able to buy small quantities online at any savings either.

Nope. Like was stated, your LGS is just doing it because people are still buying them at that price.
Shop elsewhere.

Ive got a shop 8 miles away that gets $40/1000 on primers.
Another shop 15 miles away gets $32/1000.
Guess which one I frequent? Lol.

You gotta buy in bulk with the hazmat fees. I got 7 pounds of 3 powders recently online, and with the hazmat and shipping it was still cheaper than locally, but had I bought 4, it would have been about the same. I just wish they had primers in stock when I got the powder....but no such luck.

Many of the gun stores don't have a choice when it comes to their pricing though. If their suppliers are jacking up the prices for what they can get in then they have no choice but to charge more. I very frequently visit one store in my area so much that I have come to know everyone who works there and the owners quite well. In many cases I know what they paid for things and why they charge what they charge. When their suppliers charge them crazy prices they are not going to sell things at a loss.
