When I was a kid, my dad had a Winchester Model 62 .22 pump with a custom factory birdseye maple stock. That golden yellow wood with all of the little birdseyes in the wood gives it an amazing three dimensional look. I've always loved birdseye maple because of it.

I saw a set on Sarge's website and I just had to have them on my Dan Wesson CBob!

While browsing Sarge's website (or should I say drooling), I came across his handmade jewelery boxes. I saw one made with birdseye maple and moradillo and I decided it would be the perfect Valentine's Day present for our 13 year old daughter (my wife already has a nice box...not as nice as this one, of course).

Several of my handguns are adorned with birdseye maple:

Sarge's grips are at Home Page
The grips on my Rugers are from Ruger Custom Grips
My Witness' grips are from Home Page
The S&W grips were hand made by Deacon Deason with Bear Hug Grips, but sadly Deacon is no longer with us.

But Sarge's artwork looks just stunning to my eye. His fit and finish is superb! The yellow/gold maple on the all stainless steel CBob matches up wonderfully!

mm6mm6 what caliber is that Witness chambered in? My father-in-law has been looking for a 45 Witness, but ain't haven't much luck with finding a used steel one. Everything I find where we live is either in 9mm or 40S&W.

Very nice CBOB! That birds-eye really pops! I like Sarge's grips, and may have to pick up a set for my Valor.

That's a very attractive set of custom grips. They look awesome on your stainless gun.

What a beautiful set of grips! They really look nice on your stainless 1911!

Great

I always look forward to seeing your pictures. Especially the birdseye maple stuff. I think the Bear Hug grips are the best. Wish you could still get them done by Deacon. In your opinion, is who does that style the best now?

Stunning!

I'll make a fortune selling these images on ebay
