I love this gun.

After about 5000 rounds, it hasn't failed me. I'm glad I paid extra for such a fine gun. It's everything you would expect for the price and then some.

I like plastic guns too. But a well made 1911 is a work of art. ;)

I have a Heritage as well, it is a sweet gun!! My only complaint is trying to field strip it. Very tight and difficult to get it stripped and out back together. I can't get the bushing in or out without the wrench....

I also have a Razerback in 10mm. That one is much easier to field strip and clean.

Both are built very well and are well worth the money. They are very accurate.

IMO DW makes the most beautiful and high quality off the rack 1911s going. Their brush polish just knocks me out.

The Heritage isn't on our "not too unsafe" roster so the only way to get ne is PPT and they rarely come up. This one showed up unfired on our local WTS board by a guy moving out of Kalifornistan. Wasn't cheap, well above MSRP but reasonable.

I pounced, it's no longer unfired, and I am quite happy. It's my third DW. No extra cocking serrations, no billboards or tacticool buzzwords emblazoned all over that beautiful polished slide, everything yu need, nothing you don't, sweet trigger, killer accuracy & reliabilty... what's not to like? :D

Definitely a classic in the making.

The only things I would change would be adding their 25 LPI front strap checkering and replacing that useless, dawgawful front night sight with a nice gold bead.

But it IS their entry level model... ;)

There is a Specialist on our WTS board right now... WAY above MSRP but I'm seriously considering what I need to sell to swing it... I think I may have a problem... :(

I know. I would like to buy a Valor but a little too much this time of year. And I agree, I'm going to have the front strap checkered and a fiber optic sight installed. I just can't bring myself to put skateboard tape on the front strap.
