Pawn shop has a DW M11, 357 Mag, with a 4 inch barrel with the exposed nut. One piece smooth stock with out medallions attached with a hex screw(would this be original?).

Could not find much info on the DWforum so wondering if S&W forum members have experience with this DW. I did read that it was manufactured in 1970-71; an early DW 357. Thanks!

Sounds correct. The early ones had unadorned grips attached with an Allen head screw. Should have the "porkchop" style barrel shroud? Saw one at the gun show this morning. Had it priced at $550.

I had one of those back in 1982. IIRC, I gave $100.00 for it and sold it for about the same money a few months later. It was a decent gun, IMHO butt ugly due to that big nut on the end of the barrel. I would not put much money into one, as there are too many LE trade-ins available at good prices to bother with a high dollar has been.

Thanks for your comments. This one was tagged at $299 but was in fair condition at best. I did a GB search and found no M11s for sale or recently sold. Would enjoy finding a nice example at a fair price, but that nut on the end of the barrel is obnoxious?
