Well Dirty Harry week just ended . They showed all the movies. Now I have the hots for a Colt Python 4" but really, I'd love a Model 19, 3" barrel, blue finish. Inspector Callahan's Boss, Hal Holbrook carried one and in Magnum Force he was waving it everywhere making me drool.

Do any of these Model 19's ever show up on the market?

That was a 3"? I thought it was just a 2-1/2" M19.

Refresh my memory, it's been a while since I've watched Magnum Force, which btw in my opinion was the best DH movie of them all, did Briggs carry a 2 1/2'' or a 4'' model 19?

I was thinking about this movie the other day and remembering that Python. Can't say as I remember what gun Briggs carried. I had a nice 6 1/2" Model 19 back in the early 90's. Man, I loved that gun. Should have kept it.

I just pulled the final scene up on You Tube, and it looks like a 4''Colt Diamondback, or a Python, but it is definitely NOT a model 19 S&W

OK, before I get in trouble with this, Harry tossed Briggs revolver out the window of the car after he re-arranged Briggs face on the dash, so I stand corrected. The Python was one of the Motor cops service revolver Briggs picked up for the final scene.

10-4 wence5.....I'm not sure the barrel lenghth on the 19 but it was shorter than 4".

Picked up a 19-4 with 2.5'' barrel this past spring. What a sweet little canceled carry revolver.
