Dash Number Help.

Dear S&W Forum, I need some dash number help. As many of you know i love the S&W model 60 .357 magnum with a 3 inch barrel.

I am torn between the 60-10 & the 60-15 each individual dash number has a special personal meaning for me.

I can not afford both so i need to chose so please folks help me out.

P.S. if you want to know why those two seperate dash numbers have the special personal meeaning for me.

Please l let me know i am more than willing to give an explanation.

Each dash indicates a change in the gun Do you have the SC of SW?

-10 is 1996 Target version of 357

-15 is 2001 Internal lock on 3" Target 357

So the winner in my book would be.

Rule3 i do have the standard catalog of s&w firearms 3rd addition but it was not much help with this problem.

What problem? You need someone to convince you which to buy? Buy the non-lock.

Please let me explain 60+10=70 add 3 for the barrel length=73 add 5 for the cylinder capacity=78 in 1978 i had a grandfather that passed on, and i did some family research and found out this grandfather he went though a lot of things in his life, he served 5 years in ww2 one of which was in japan on occupation duty, he returned home with ptsd and he was lately diagnosed with epilepsy and suffered horrible seizures, related to his war service in the pacific.

He also fathered 6 children and he worked very hard at his factory job to support and care for them. He worked so hard in fact that he died prematurely at the age of 55 of a massive heart attack while he was at work.

the story about the 60-15 is a little more personal in nature involving the number 83 and a female friend i had in college who to this very day is very near and dear to me.

Well, I can appreciate you wanting to remember or honor people who are important in you life but to be candid if I may, Adding and subtracting numbers does not do much in selecting the better gun.

For me, my Grandfather (immediate family) would come before someone else, plus the other factor which we are not allowed to speak of.

Bottom line only you can make the decision.

I'd still buy the no lock 60-10, no other reason than no lock.
