dash ????

Can someone tell me what dash number on a 686 means they quit using the fitted steel parts? My gunsmith says to build me another pistol he needs one with the steel internal parts.

Welcome! The MIM (non-forged) parts started with the 686-5, but the earlier ones are readily available outside of complete guns if that is the issue. Hope this is helpful.

"MIM" parts are "STEEL"

Most MIM parts don't need fitting. That is the idea with the process. Cheaper to produce and less fitting required.
