Is this the correct forum to request a date by serial #?

I just lucked up on a very nice gun, serial # 1D19XXX and wondered how old it might be?

Catalog puts it at 1976 or 1977.

Is it a 3" or 4" barrel?
The 3" ones are highly sought after.

It's a 4". I know the 3" ers are highly prized, but I'll take the extra inch for the added velocity. It was an impulse buy!

Usually I prefer um younger. But if she's a model I would take to a movie then dinner and if she was adventurous I would take her to the range.
