Wondering if there is anything special about the revolver I acquired today and the date of manufacture. Assume it is a 90% gun and give me a price estimate. I am a newbie here. If this is not the way or place to ask educate me on the proper method and place. Thanks in advance.

Model 67 (stainless)
Serial # 5K2XXX
4 inch barrel
adjustable rear sight
38 Special
3 screws
pinned barrel
cylinder is not recessed

The S&W bible dates it at 1973 and it lists it ANIB - 600, Excellent - 500, VG - 400. With today's market what it is, one can probably get 1 to 200 more depending on location. That's just my opinion, I'm sure someone will tune in with more accurate figures. I picked up a a real nice one in 18 for 450 but in the last two years they've really gone up.

Welcome to the FORUM! You will enjoy shooting it. 67 is the stainless steel version of the blued Model 15. Yours is a now dash. {no engineering changes} 1st model. Mine is serial # 5K193xx, just a little earlier than yours. Shipped in 1973. The early 67's had all stainless rear sights. They were later changed to blued because of glare complaints. Never bothered me. They are good solid revolvers. Bob

I put 85 rounds through it today. I was pleased with the gun. Thanks for the info and the welcome.

Make sure the lug holding the ejector latch is tight. Also the tiny screw securing the rear sight. Both can work loose on these early model stainless revolvers. Has happened several times to me. Can be a challenge locating them during a range session. My 67 no-dash is a 3Kxxxxx serial which shipped in 1972. I purchased it in '73. Enjoy your fine revolver.
