Date of my 3" Model 36?

Greetings, All,

Been several years since I was last here, and things are slowing down a bit, work-wise, so here I am again!

I was looking around in my safe, and came across an older S&W Model 36, and cannot recall if I ever asked for some help in dating it's year of manufacture. It's a blued, 3" Model 36 (no dash), the barrel is pinned, and it has a 3-screw side plate. This little gem came with the flat latch, and diamond grips. The serial number is 362***. It's been shot a great deal in it's long life, but is still tight, and quite accurate. I've had it since I bought it back in the mid to late 1980's. The seller's asking price was so good, that I could not resist picking it up!

Any ideas as to when it was made would be gratefully appreciated! I'm thinking some time in the 1960's, but could easily be wrong. Thanks for your help, and God

Nice to have an early 3". By the SCSW list =/- 1963 with the third style flat latch.

Welcome back! I believe 1963 or 1964 is a likely ship year also.

I took 21 photos of the little M36 this morning. I've forgotten how many I can post here. I would love to post all of them, but again, can't recall is that's "Kosher", or not.
