Purchased a Model 49 from a friend. Was his father in laws at one time. Serial number is 241468. It has a flat latch and pinned barrel, which puts it pre 1966 according to Volume 5 of the SCSW. Has rubber grips currently, I know he has the grips which should have the diamonds. Just a year would be helpful as the catalog just gives a range for the year. Thanks all!!

Somewhere around 1962/3 would be my guess. 342443 was shipped June 1965. Advantage of being a SWCA is you can get ship dates for your guns and you have access to everyone else's request plus data bases so normally a quick search will get you pretty close if researching before you buy.
