She is shooting a Colt .380 pocketlite with Daddy standing behind her. The rain didn't stop us from going out. (the teacher foot issues are what kept me sidelined most of the time) She has been mostly shooting the .22 rifle and 30-30 so today was the first time she'd shot a handgun.

I think she liked it.

Good to see that you are bringing the young'ins up right.

My missus still talks about your strawberry preserves, now she wants to learn how to make them ;)

Teaching the younger generation to safely use and respect firearms! Good for you.

Speaking of daughters with protection...

Have any of you caught the new series 'American Guns' filmed at the Gunsmoke shop in Colorado?

The sixteen year old daughter apparently open carries a 1911 on her hip, even when 'out and about' by herself.

If that's okay in Colorado, maybe I've just picked my retirement locale.

I don't watch anything regularly. At least not till it's aired at least a couple of years, so I can catch it on netflix or Hulu at my leisure. But that does sound like something I'd watch.

I like her stance. Alert, poised, but not tense. Nothing locked up. Relaxed control. :)

i dont get why all women i ever see have the exact same stance leaning back like that? i mean no offense, its just something i have noticed, my wife does it as well, and i just cant get her to correct it.

i know im not the only one who sees this?

awesome gettin the youngster out and shooting, we need to get ALL kids out there so they are taking our guns when they get older.

Not all women lean back. The oldest doesn't, the youngest doesn't, I don't, my mom doesn't. I don't think it's a gender thing.

The whole thing I was saying I liked was bent knees, elbows...no tension. Any backleaning is minor compared to the problems tension will cause.

While this daughter does lean back some, I think the photo angle (she's downhill from the camera) plus a back problem she has makes it look a lot more pronounced in this picture than it really is.

Daddy was working with her that time. Next time we go shooting, i'll leave him at home so it's taken care of properly.
