David Sanborn RIP

He had a TV show on NBC called "Night Music." It was a musical variety/historical show with live performances and old films of performers. Sanborn always did sax solos with the live performers, and the show I remember best is where the main guest act was Hank Ballard and the Midnighters. Sanborn looked like he was having the time of his life jamming with them.

And for what it's worth, you call pull up this episode on YouTube.

RIP, David.

I play the sax and have been listening to David's music since first
being introduced to it (1970s?)

I have at least a half dozen of his CD's. Great saxophonist. I reckon
he's joined that orchestra on the other side.

I was fortunate to see David Sanborn at Blues Alley. I believe it was November/December 2006. He would also play the Birchmere, in Alexandria VA.

Having seen him several times previously, David Sanborn was my first post-COVID concert. I had held on to the tickets for two years.
