If you use Dawson Fiber optic front and rear, get the .160 for the front, as the Dawson rear is non-adjustable and the same height as the factory rear, when it's down all the way. If you use the .180, you'll shoot a few inches low at 25 yards. I tested both. I use my M&P22 in non-sanctioned IDPA type shoots and steel challenge shoots.
If you leave the rear stock, get the .180, so you can adjust it upward a little. The stock factory front sight is .160 and you have to bottom out the rear to get point of aim.
I have the .160 on mine with the factory rear but wished I had gotten the .180 for more adjustability. Just a little minor filing on the Dawson sight dovetail to get it to fit.
Don't understand the measurement on the factory front sight for M&P22.
I measured mine and came up with 1/4 inch from top of the slide to top of the sight. 1/4 inch equals .250. How is everyone saying that stock sights are .160??????

Are you measuring from the bottom of the dovetail (i.e. the groove that the sights sit in) to the top of the sight? or from the top of the slide to the top of the sight?
The 0.160 measurement is from the top of the slide.
