Spent a few hours at the range with my 9 year old boy on Saturday. Had the 15-22 and my new MKIII to play with. Another good outing for the 15-22. This was the first time for my son to get to fire it and he loved it. The only thing that slowed us down was reloading mags. We ended up going thru 300 rounds thru the 15-22 and 200 thru the MKIII.

I have been sticking with the higer velocity stuff in the 15-22 and this day I did not have any problems at all. I believe now that my problems on the first range trip were due to not paying attention to loading the mags.

Myself I am loving the 15-22 more and more.

Taking your son is what really makes the day special.

They grow up and away all too soon. Enjoy his companionship while he has time.

Dude that is awesome my dad started taking me when i was 7 and i havent layed the gun down since:D.. im now taking my niece alot she is 7 and loves it... she gets to be equals at the range .... being small isnt a handy cap if you can put the cross hairs where you want them on the target.. congrats on a awesome day

i took my 9yr old daughter to the indoor range a few weeks back for the first time to shoot my beretta neos and she loved it. leaving one of the employees commented on how good it was bringing a kid to shoot and that he marvels at all of the 40 yr olds that come in and don't know which way to point the barrel. i didn't want to tell him i was that guy the week before... actually not really. i have shot shotguns for years and i was in the military but it had been a while since i handled anything besides a 12 gauge.

i kind of slinked out the door...

My son and daughter both like to shoot. SInce turning 13 my daughter doesnt go with us as much but she is still the best shot.

I started them both on a cricket 22, then my lever action Henry. I think the 15-22 will be a great entry into semi autos. My boy took to it quick. THe only problem he had was getting him to take his time reloading mags.

Very cool,

I just picked up a 15-22 two weeks ago for my son who is 13 and we have been to the range the last two Sat. The first time we had a few FTE's with every 10 round clip. After reading about adjusting the ejector a little in toward the bolt, we have not had a single FTE since. We have already added Magpul stuff to the gun and it is looking very nice. Will have to post a few picts when I get a chance.
