I've got two M&P 40's and an Apex DCAEK kit for each. These handguns are for HD and IDPA/Recreation. As I recall from the Apex videos the stock spring with the kit measured 4 lbs, 11 oz or so and the Apex spring with kit measured about 5.5 lbs. That doesn't seem like much of a difference to warrant changing out the stock spring given that the only time I'll draw from a holster is in IDPA and training. I'd like to hear from others who thought this through.

As an aside, I have both California and non-CA 40 cal (full-size both). Unfortunately, the CA model as the old slide stop assembly so the triggers will likely feel differenyt even after the DCAEK kits. I'll change to the new slide stop as soon as I can find one in stock.

Doesn't matter either way...pick the one you like the feel of best, and use that one.

The other parts in the Apex kit are what make the difference anyway...
