Hey Guys, it appears I will beat many of you to the guns of gold! My pneumonia has finally been diagnosed as something rare and incurable. (Maybe) Two docs are arguing over whether it is a fungus or a bacteria. Both are nasty. One gives me about six months, the other about a year. Surprisingly I am not concerned about myself but I need to get my wife as secure as possible.
Never thought I'd be as secure mentally as I am. Wonder if it get worse as time winds down.

My friend Dan lost his mother to similar circumstances.

I am sorry to hear that you received such news. You seem like a good guy. I wish that I had words guaranteed to offer solace, but I do not. I will say that there is a long history of people surviving diseases that they were told were incurable.

If there is anything any of us can do, let us know.

Our Father in heaven. We come to You this morning with bowed heads and humble hearts to lift our brother up to You and ask You to touch him with Your healing hands, if that is in Your will, and drive this sickness from his body. We ask You to use the doctors and rest of the medical community as Your hands, and Your eyes, to do Your work, for Your glory and Your honor. Give him strength, and comfort him, Lord. Give strength and comfort to those who love him also. May the whole world see Your mighty works through him.

We ask these things in the name of Your most precious and holy Son, Jesus the Christ.

Amen.

Be strong brother.

What a great attitude, keep fighting and I will be thinking & praying for you.

We are all pulling for you buddy. Today is a beautiful day to be alive. Showers this morning, sun shining now and hopefully some cats on the trot line. All of our days are numbered, so keep your priorities in hand. Prayers for you and your wife.

Almost the same thing happened to a good friend. First diagnosis was lung cancer (smoked almost 50 years). Found the affected area needed to be removed and took out the top of one lung. He's still recovering but the outcome is not terminal. It ain't over. Joe

Hang in there and keep good positive thoughts!
Doctor business; remember they call it a practice!

I just this morning ran into a summer camper up here cutting his lawn. He was given 3 months to live 18 months ago. (cancer)

I was given 4-6 weeks to 4-6 months to live back in April of 2000, NSC adenocarcinoma....a persistent and aggressive cancer....... then it went into remission.... where it stayed until Feb of 2013, when it returned.

There isn't a toe tag with a bar code on your foot just yet............but you do need to see your family attorney, make sure your Will ,your Power of Attorney & Durable Power of Attorney for medical decisions are filled out properly & are up to date.........then get an appointment set up with your insurance agent & make sure you are set there too, and that all the bills are paid........

Might be a good time to decide if you want to be cremated or buried........I told my lady that I didn't care, cremation would be fine.. or to even donate my body to medical science.. whatever she wants is great with me...........All of these decisions can be made by you now, and save her worry and large sums of money later.........

I know this is no where close to being the same but our schnoodle was diagnosed with 3-5 weeks due to inoperable cancer of the jaw. He finally left us 5 years later at age 22.

Hang in there!

Nobody, in any profession, uses the word "miraculous" more than medical doctors, to explain events that they were unable to predict. Even though they were generally the smartest kids in the class, often they're just as clueless as the rest of us. Ignore them! On the other hand, stay away from fat ladies who think they can sing. Hang in there, brother!

Ron, any way of getting to a 3rd doctor? I'm not terribly comfy with MDs who can't decide whether it is a fungus or bacteria. If I heard something like this, I might head for the Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Duke Univ M.C., or other of the top hospitals specializing in pulmonology. Perhaps you already have, but this indecision on their part strikes me wrong.

I also suffer from lung problems and received a terminal diagnosis 11 years ago. I'm still chugging along. Please go to someone else to get this diagnosis cleared up.
