Hi:
Just viewed the movie "Death Hunt with Lee Marvin and Charles Bronson
on "You Tube".
The words on the screen were BACKWARD!
The Bolt Action Rifles (Krags and Lee-Enfields) bolts were on the left side of the weapons?
The Colt New Service Revolver cylinder opened on the right side of the weapon?
Opinons?

Have you been in the "sauce" again JimmyJ?;)

I always liked that movie. Somebody got a reversed
digital from the original film???

The film has had the negative reversed would be my guess. If you take an old negative, look through it, then turn it over everything will be reversed. This is what happened to the only photo know to exist of Billy the Kid. Everyone except me thought he was left handed because he had his handgun on his left hip. But what clued me in was his Winchester rifle had a loading gate on the left side, which was never done by Winchester. While I was not smart enough on my own to figure this out I was smart enough to ask a photographer. An interesting side note, the movie was based real caractors and real events. I really liked the varity of guns used, all period to the true story. The only poor choices in the movie was the mounted police's guns. They were issued and used SMLE'S and Colt New Service handguns. Charles Bronsons caractor in the movie used a Savage 99 which the real caractor used as well. When Albert Johnson was killed, no he didnt escape, he was carrying a Savage 99 takedown in 30-30 and a Winchester pump 22 rifle, either a model 1890 or a model 1906.

Even so, still a grand movie. Ease up on the "sweetener" in your coffee jimmyj!! :)

It's a great movie based on a true story and the only thing true about it is they got the names right. "Albert Johnson" was on the run from the Dakotas and shot a Mountie in the Northern Territories who just knocked on his cabin door, then the chase was on. He was a fantastic shot and unfortunately killed the Lee Marvin character (actually a very young guy) in the first shootout. In the movie the plane failed but in reality it was the first use of a plane in that area for that purpose and brought supplies to the posses. The plane did not crash. A great book on this is The Mad Trapper Of Rat River. Johnson used a Savage 1899 30-30 (movie got that right). I love that movie in spite of all the fiction. and BTW. The weather in the movie is very pleasant compared to what they really went through chasing Johnson who proved to be a man of almost superhuman indurance. He died with the meanest grimace on his face, fighting to the death in a wild shootout.

Any chance you were wearing some of those mirror sun glasses?
I understand that they make everything look backwards...

I would never wear them - I don't think I could deal with everything being even more backwards than it already is.

What a dumb invention!

Actually, just for general information, the only known photo of Billy the Kid is a tintype, and in tintypes the picture is reversed. What first clued me in about Billy was he is wearing a girl's swearter and a girl's vest. Buttons on the wrong side.
