The Detective Special is going to be more prone to rust and bluing loss if carried close to the body. The cylinder also turns the "wrong" way if you are used to Smith and Wesson revolvers. Might make a difference, might not.

Do the New York reload thing and carry both of them. If I remember correctly there is one forum member who can fix you up with a neat rig for that set up.

Actually...I've been carrying the Colt on the belt and saving the 442 for ankle..and yes, I have gone out with both...but only because my renegade ankle rig is so comfortable, I forgot I had it on....:)

If that makes a difference, I'm in deeper doo doo than a snubbie can get me out of.

I've got the feeling that the DS is going to spend most of it's time in a dark place.:D

I like the idea of carrying both also. Gets the balance right.
Gets kind of a feng shui thing going on.

What happened to the pretty walnut grips you got for the DS?

I am going to suggest that you carry both one gun on hip the other on the other hip just like cowboys do in the western movies, just make sure the belt your wearing is good and strong.

Personally, I never found an ankle holster to be of much use - - :O

But then, maybe your arms are longer than mine :)

Take both to the range. Do a shoot off and carry the winner.

Give the Colt a good chance. ;)

Have been...it's a little bigger and heavier, but on the belt, not that big a deal...I tried ankle carry but it was too heavy..don't know how my dad did if for so many years...maybe it's it's that whole non complaining suck it up greatest generation thing...:)
