Dems in Maryland considering law to harass ordinary gun owners

I predict that this trend will continue. Since the Heller v. DC decision the anti's have shifted tactics from outright bans to all the "reasonable restrictions" they can dream up, all of which are intended to make it as difficult, time consuming, and expensive as possible for anyone who wishes to exercise the right to keep and bear arms.

At the same time, the brainwashing of future generations will continue in our public schools and other arenas. Use of firearms, and gun owners in general, will be trivialized and portrayed as threats to a peaceful society.

They will not stop, so we cannot either. This is a fight that will never be over.

It sounds like a clone of the Illinois FOID program.
Just ask anyone from Illinois how seamlessly that system works.

They've got the same bs here in NJ. If you've got enough money, you can exercise your 2a rights. I'd love to see them issue a license to talk etc. It's a poll tax but there aren't enough folks that recognise it. We also have too many folks who think it's a 'good' thing for the state to mandate classes and other related stuff in order to either 'keep' or 'bear' arms.
As far as the kids are concerned, they just threw a kid out of school for having a platic soldier that had a gun. All of 2 1/2 in.
The only exposure most folks have to guns are the criminals on the street.
Oh well, I know i'm preaching to the choir. But the people that think the state should determine how well I can shoot before I get a ccw are the ones who really bother me. I am the one who has to worry about whether I can shoot or not - not the state.

Let me put it this way... I got my passport 3 times faster than I got my FOID card. You'll use it to buy ammo, guns (and yes, still wait periods), and depending on the store (Dick's Sporting Goods, what a terrible store) you'll have to show 'em a FOID card to even get them to let you look at one of their guns. Of course, we have all those transportation rules about unloaded firearms in locked compartments and out of the driver's reach, etc. etc...

Thanks a lot, Chicago. Making sure a law abiding citizen never has access to a gun when he needs it. No wonder the crime rate here sucks. :(

PDL,
"I am the one who has to worry about whether I can shoot or not - not the state. "

Is harrassing against the law??????? How about a few of them legislatures in Maryland get charged along with the law enforcement and be put in jail for a year. Thank God that I am in Nebraska and we have an admendment to our state constitution to have that right to own and bear arms and a ccw permit. rz625-8

And just one more reason why I live in Northern Virginia and not in the Maryland part of the DC suburbs. Bethesda and Potomac are nice, but the gun laws in Maryland suck.

This is a valid point. Politicians that want to outlaw or mandate harassment to people that are engaging in constitutionally protected activities....should be guilty of a crime!

You bet your socks! These bastards should go to jail....for just proposing such a thing.

I long is this going to go on before "something" brings this to a screaming halt? Do you we just sit here day after day and allow this to happen? Why haven't the electorate stood up and brought these rat bastards down?

GOD HELP US!
