Denied purchase of a Hand Gun. :-/

My dad lives in Florida and has worked in law enforcement for 20+ years. He is delayed every time. There is a local felon with the same name.

We went through this a year ago, umm we had a delay (hold) Pa uses its own system, if i remember correctly after 3 business days the dealer can release the item

It happens, really sucks when you drive 60 miles round trip only to be turned away.

Seems like, a few years back, there was a nation-wide glitch in the system, and nobody could get through, so gun sales were shut down. System was down for about a week, and, since the three days went by, the dealers could (legally) release the guns, but few did, not wanting to get in bad with the ATF, even if they obeyed the law. They continued to wait for an approval.

Does anybody else remember this, or was I smoking the wrong kind of bananas?

Everything depends on which bureaucrat that your case is handled by or which bureaucrat programmed (or keypunched into) the comptuter that your case is handled by. Ted Bundy can still buy a firearm if the right/wrong person handles the case and a saint could be denied on any given day.
