Failed implant
9865afb5ad1437dbc185587ba31af44a.jpg

Started aching Saturday (of course)
Saw a dentist Monday who referred me to an oral surgeon who saw me Tuesday but couldn't do an extraction until the 11th
It popped out on its own Thurs
5 days of the worst toothache ever
Roughly $2000 18 years ago,$5000 now
I'm saving it for my estate [emoji23]

For $2000 you’d think they’d spend 4 bucks on some locktite.

I feel for you, I'm getting my remaining top teeth pulled Monday and an upper denture.

Yeah. My son was born without an eye tooth. The implant cost nearly $5K a few years back. We were told it has an expected life of 20 years.

My wife recently had one done on a failed root canal from 20 years ago. Over $5K for that one. We have dental insurance, but its limit is $1750/year, so the majority was out of pocket. Surgeon did the post and a cadaver bone graft. Regular dentist attached the false tooth. So far I still have all my teeth although a couple are crowned after root canals.

Sorry to hear about the pain!

Torque values measured in newton centimeters.

I am 8 months into my #10 incisor implant. Fake tooth torque down triggered a series of minor sinus issues: vertigo, headache, fatigue and stigmatism. All symptoms have resolved themselves. This is a weird and more extreme surgical procedure than I expected. I might even do it again if necessary.

I rate the professionals I need:
#1) Dentist
#2) Veterinarian
#3) Car Mechanic
#4) EMTs
and so on......

Did the plastic drywall anchor come out too, or is it still in there?
...
Oh, oh....

$50 in Mejico and they comp a colonoscopy.
(Insert Spanish accent here) "Well, as long as we're up here, let's keep going and see if we can find that drywall anchor."

I am thankful for every dentist that I have seen.
My mother grew up in a very rural area of Idaho and during that time the local dentist also sub'd as the Vet or maybe he was the Vet subbing as the Dentist. However, due to severe decay, she has most of her teeth removed by him when she was 13.
She made sure all of us kids went to the dentist but she preferred to sit in the car to wait, she could not/would not sit in the office.

I popped out a crown on Tuesday night. Just came right out when eating a bao bun. No pain, looked good, figured with my dental luck I'd be out a couple grand if I was lucky.

Nope, tooth good, crown good, just came off. Out the door for under $50. Sometimes you're the bug, sometimes you're the windshield

Clear Choice......

In 2020, the day before election day, I had all my teeth removed, top & bottom at Clear Choice in Indy. I turned 61 a month later.
It was far from the most painful thing I ever endured.
I had spent thousands on teeth repair & crowns, dentures, etc. over the years prior. Clear Choice cost me $52k. It changed my life.

Now I can eat anything I want with zero issues and zero pain.
They should issue these when we pop out.

No, I am not seen on their TV ads.
I was deemed to have a face good for radio.

Ned
