Just received a Desantis Soft Tuc leather for a Shield.

I don't like it.

Yes, I can tuck my dress shirt in while my Shield is IWB but it is obvious from my dress belt protruding from my right hip bone that I have a weapon.

If I am wearing the holster incorrectly please let me know. I had it just behind the right hip bone at say 3:30. It looks ridiculous with my athletic build and fitted dress shirt.

Here's my suggestion...
Stop being so damn athletic, get fat like the rest of us and that protrusion on your hip will blend in with the other protrusions on the rest of your body...lol!!

I must admit your post is funny.

I am not a gym rat. For about the last 2 years I have been riding my bike 9 miles per day round trip to catch the train to work so I can pay for college without contributing to the nations student loan debt and the side effect has been what I mentioned.

The tuc holster will be fine for sweat pants and a t shirt.

I did notice the Glock 26 Desantis tuc fits my Shield better than the Shield Desantis Tuc. There is about 1/4 inch of wasted leather at the muzzle for the Shield holster whereas the Glock 26 tuc fits flush.

I found it to be the case also with my pocket Desantis and Galco IWB.

It would be my recommendation to look at the Glock 26 holsters when fitting the Shield.

I have worn my shield 9 in a Desantis Sof-tuc back a little farther back than your position and even in small of back position but have been warned about the the problems that can occur with the small of back position. I am not of a fan of IWB after trying it as most of my pants are tight in the waist anyway and adding a belt tightens the Sof-tuc holster enough to make drawing the weapon pretty tight in my experience. I can see where a formed kydex holster would not have the squeezing problem but still the IWB is uncomfortable for me. I mostly CCW in a OWB holster but don't wear fitted shirts either. It is pretty hard to CC in the summer for me anyway.

Team sidewinder

My work attire is dress slacks and shirt & tie with no jacket. I have found the Desantis pocket holster for the Glock 26 works best for my Shield.

I had a Desantis super fly but the aggressive texture rubbed through my pocket and made my leg sore.

You might try going up one pant size too. That helped me with dress pants. I carry at 4 oclock.

Most of the time, with all the cell phone waist holders and other stuff people carry on their hip,no one notices you are carrying. Put on a large tape measure and walk around. Hardly anyone will notice or care.

This is my favorite carry holster for both my Solo CDP and Shield. Have you expermented with adjusting the cant? I wear mine at the 3:30 - 4:00 position. Right infront of the right rear belt loop. Over time I have purchased pants with an inch wider waist band for IWB carry.

Ill be happy to take that holster off ur hands!!!

Thanks for sharing your experience.

I am going to try the Remora and the N82 Tactical Pro model. I had considered he Soft-Tuc initially.

I have 3 pistols and seven holsters.
Still looking for the "perfect" combo.
It'll probably be a pocket carry but that means pistol #4 and holster #7.

Thanks everyone with the feed back. I decided to send her back to Amazon.

My pocket holster fitted for a Glock 26 works for my life style.

I have a Galco IWB That works when I wear sweat pants I just can't tuck in my t shirt.

I have a Shield and carry it often when not at work. When at work, I carry my J frame M&P 340 in my front pants pocket every day. It works great and I like it better than trying to CC my Shield under a shirt IWB. I have both OWB and IWB for my Shield but for what I do and how I have to dress, pocket carry works better for me.

Tom:

I came close to buying a Ruger LCR before I purchased my Shield. The LCR 38 was nice in my pocket at approx 13 oz empty.

The Shield at 24 oz loaded is all the weight I want in my pocket. In fact I tighten my belt a notch to keep my pants level.

After pocket packing her for a year next month I have gotten use to my Shield.

Maybe someday I will revisit a revolver for a ccw.

Russ, which DeSantis pocket holster for a G26 are you using? I see they have The Super-Fly, The Nemesis, and the Pocket-Tuk.

I am using the pocket Desantis Nemesis model "E1" Made for the Glock 26. $21 at Cabelas. I also have the soft leather Galco IWB for Glock 26 Both holsters fit the Shield better than the Desantis soft tuc made for the Shield.

I owned a Super fly and it rubbed my leg sore through my pocket. Nemesis in my opinion is better for the pocket. The texture is not as aggressive as super fly yet I can still draw quick and material is thick enough that you can not pull trigger while holstered and yes I have tried.

P.S. Amazon has one for $19. Several reviews using with Shield with perfect fit.

Model #N38BJEIZO
