Abe Vigoda...aka, Detective Sergeant Fish..on Barney Miller, has passed away in his sleep at 94. Rest in peace Abe (Carol Fuchs) The last thing I saw him on was on a candy commercial about a year ago.

Fish and I have similar urinary frequency problems. Fortunately, I retired before mine occurred. Fish , had not.

He and Jack Soo (Yemana) always cracked me up.

Capt. Miller pointed out the safe contained petty cash... 40 bucks.
Fish said "take it out of my check".

They don't write 'em or make 'em like that anymore.

Wojo, Yemana and Fish were my favorites on the show. I remember Abe played the part of a minor mobster to Sinatras gang in one of those comedy racing movies which also had Dean Martin, Jamie Farr etc. He was hilarious.

Abe was a great actor and I still watch the reruns of Barney Miller. I think the whole cast each on their own was great.
I read where several times he had been reported dead when he wasn't. He had a wit about him and he had a pic taken with him sitting up in a casket holding a people's magazine that stated he had died. I don't guess he will be sitting up this time. 94 years old and he had a full life.
Seems the old timers are getting few and hard to find anymore.
