Hi all
Picked up another 25 acp. Never held one before and
It's made better than I expected.
Hopefully it will work properly the extractor is very tight I feel the spring is too long. I removed it and cleaned out the channel and spring hole that didn't help. Have to spend more time with it. So tight it can't be moved.
Take a look
Mike

The extractor spring may be inserted Upside Down.

Some of these use a small coil spring that is made with one end having that coil left slightly larger in diameter when they are mfg'd.

That slightly larger dia end is to be inserted down into the hole first.
The larger dia coil meant to catch and trap the small spring by interference/friction while the rest of the spring above it moves freely in and is compressed by the extractor.

The small coil spring used for the Safety in these is usually the same type of design with one end wound with a slightly large coil

Other firearms designs used this occasionally.
Star uses the idea on the Model F and Lancer on the Recoil Spring so the spring doesn't easily fall free from the frame when the pistol is taken down.
If assembled 'backwards', the slide will jam and stall after being pulled a very short distance to the rear.

Ithaca used it on the small coil sear springs on the Flues Model SxS.

It might not be the cause of the stuck extractor, but it's an easy thing to check for.

I'll check it out.
