Did a trade today. How did I do?

The Ruger will be great for carry. That 29 was just a beautiful gun and I just couldn't have traded it.

my 6.5" 29-2 is also pre-endurance...has served me well since 1976 without so much as a burp...hope you ruger does as well

Glocks are just plain butt ugly, but utterly reliable. Your 29 is in a much higher class/bracket than that 17. A good used 17 can be had for 400.00. That beauty of a 29 is worth way more and oozes quality. That 19 will fill its spot niclely.

I know that Ruger will last for decades even with hard use, but this thread still has a slight "Ma, I traded the family cow for the magic beans" quality to it.

Very good deal! I am a Glock fan and a S&W revolver fan. Everyone can bash Glocks all they want but they are flat out dependable. I realize they are not for everyone though.

With that said I would of done that deal in a minute. Like others have said you can easily buy another G17 but a nice model 29 is not as easy to find. Plus in my neck of the woods the model 29 would run at least $200 more.


Edit.....I just noticed later in the thread you traded the Model 29. I probably would not have done that deal but Rugers are good tough as nails revolvers. enjoy.

This guy must be screwing with us...the tye-dye, and then the Ruger, it's just too hilarious. But seriously, there are a LOT of those old 29's floating around waiting to be scooped up thanks to Dirty Harry, so I'd get the shooter first and the safe queen later, just as you did.

I would have fired that 29 all the time.it wouldnt have been a safe queen. now the glock for the 29 was a great deal. and I like rugers also that will be a good gun but you should have got the tank of all rugers the super redhawk. that gun is heavy and will sink ships I call mine the coastal defense gun.
