Did anyone get one of those .44 Special Rugers?

I got one with the 5.5" barrel. It's one of the better made Rugers I've had and the trigger pull is pretty good for a Ruger. It's about the right weight and has very little creep.
I took it out for a short time last Saturday and ran about 50 rounds through it.
It seems to be reasonably accurate and will get another range trip soon.
I recommend them as a best buy.

I also have one with the 5.5 barrel. As Joni says a very nice trigger. It is one fine shooting handgun. Usually 2 1/2 inch groups with it@25 yds. My best so far has been 1 1/2 inch group at 25 yds.
If my eyes were about 25 years younger I think I could do better.

I have the short barrel version. Handles nice, good trigger for a Ruger and shot just fine.

As Joni Lynn said they are a best buy.

It seem's we have a run on the 5 1/2 incher's here, mine too. Ditto to what Joni_Lynn and dg101win said! Got about 700 rounds out of mine so far and it is a shooter! Nice surprise is that it shoots just about all my jacketed or cast 240gr loads to the same point of aim. Grab one when you can!

4 & 5/8's for me.

Joni Lynn, glad to hear you finally got yours.

This thread needs pics!

A week or so back pbslinger walked up and bought his out of the showcase of a local dealer. Lucky huh? Under $500 OTD. His is a 4 5/8" version.

All thanks to a heads up from Bob!

I haven't shot it since my club range is closed. As noted it seems to be one the nicest fitted Ruger I have seen. The trigger is usable out of the box.

Here is a photo of the stags I put on it.

Nice Flattop! I just bought a Ruger Blackhawk in 357, with 4 5/8". But I love that 44!

Best

Since I haven't seen one of these up close, I would like to know something...

Does this gun have the spring loaded "stud" in the frame that contacts the ratchet and makes the chambers line up with the ejector correctly- like the New Vaqueros with the XR3 frame?

I'd like to have one, but I couldn't bring myself to get it if it had that stud, unless it could be removed.

It has the spring loaded plunger. I don't see a down side to it. It is easy to remove.

I purchased a couple of the Ruger .44 Special 4 5/8" revolvers. I shot one of them and it shoots very well, Ruger did a nice job on these...
