picked this up today from a Ohio prison officer he just retired carried lot and shot a little. there is a little bluing loss on the muzzle. The grips are still very nice and I got a Roy's leather holster with it paid $320.00 p.s. there are no engraving marks on it from being issued. I am a happy camper
my bad thought it was a -3 but its a -4
you did well. Check the cylinder to see if it spins true, cock the hammer and try to force it forward, if you can't, then she is good to go. You just bought one of the finest revolvers S&W has ever made.
There is a fella in Iowa that makes BEAUTIFUL custom wood grips for the old S&W's.
Here is my 66 with a set of his grips:
Also, Gould and Goodrich makes a nice 3 slot Pancake thumb retention holster that fits the 19/66 like a glove. I got mine on Amazon for $56 and had it in under a week.
