He apparently forgot that they told him that convicted felonies could not have a firearm.

Felon or not, I suspect he didn't have the proper paperwork for that "sawed-off shotgun". Which also makes me really concerned about this statement:

"Police say Mcbride could face charges of being a felon in possession of a gun."

He COULD face charges? A felon in possession of a sawed-off shotgun COULD face charges? How's that work? I guess all those gun laws in California don't apply to gang-bangers. I suppose it might restrict them from plying their trade.

It's the news...they don't have a great track record on accuracy.

can anyone tell me the logic behind making a sawed off shotgun illegal unless you have special tax permits? I mean if you can by a .410 pistol, why would a short barreled shotgun be illegal? Crazy!!

"Felon in possession" is a federal offence that does NOT always have a parallel state law in every jurisdiction. Getting the feds involved to prosecute it is not that easy, given how hosed the federal court system is in many parts of the country.

Also the local news outlets are very, very careful not to say anything that could be construed as prejudicial to a case. Here they'll have website headlines like "Local man killed after his car is vaporized by explosion".

I guess they learn that in orientation now. From the station lawyer.

This means he will walk after surgery. That will be paid for us taxpayers. He might spend some time in the Gray Bar Hotel but it's nothing as he has been there before. Judge may even dismiss the case because of pain & suffering by the defendant. Short barreled shot gun? He was ignorant of the law, dismissed. By the way, he was just beginning to turn his life around.

Pathetic but more often then not very true.

"Mcbride was in a home when he heard gunshots, put a sawed-off shotgun in his pants and went outside to investigate. Bustos says when Mcbride tried to draw the gun, he pulled the trigger and shot himself."

Yo dude is that a shotgun in your pants or are you just happy to see me?

Just glad he wasn't only 19 and possibly living within 1,000 feet of a school. Then it would be reported as a "school shooting incident" by the Bloomberg paid anti-gun groups. The "Moms" are now claiming that the shooting in Washington state is just one out of 39 school shootings this year. I wonder how many of the 39 are gangbanger related with no real connection to a school.

Doesn't he know those sawed off shotguns are illegal? If only he had had his criminal background check, none of this would have happened.
