Did Tom Brady lie about knowing?

I still can't believe the NFL allows QBs to supply their own footballs. What's next, caddies? "Hmm, 3rd & long, what do you think? The 11.5 lb ball?"

The only way someone could believe he didn't know about it is to believe two low level sideline guys were messing with the air pressure in balls on their own well before the AFC Championship game.

Big Brady fan here... did he know, probably.... should it matter... maybe, only if you are the loser... people are always looking for an excuse to blame for their shortcoming... athletes more so. Teams and fans that he beat are all looking for the excuse... the air in the balls matter about as much as spygate, just another opportunity to cry...

The bottom line... the investigation could not prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt... not even close... so move on... no penalties, no fines, no suspension.. should be nothing coming from this except tightening up the rules or just dump the rule to begin with. Let the player set the air to their liking. Every sport allows for the players to hone their tools of the trades, why not football.. they let em rub, scrub and play with them before a game.. let em air em accordingly...

#24's about a clueless post I've ever read on this forum and it's about a subject I could not care less of.

Stick to cars, dude, you know squat about sports.
Still shakin' my head...

Weren't those the same outfit that got caught stealing signals or plays a couple years back? That's the new way, cheat then rely on media adulation to keep the money. Good thing our political leaders don't behave that way.
The Pats franchise should've been shut down after their first violation of sportsmanship. Nobody would've missed them by now.
Brady could've gone to the Raiders...

Pretty sure that was all you had so I'll leave it alone for now.
Too nice a day for my foolishness to start.

Have a good one.

Of course he knew. If it was my call you would have the entire season off.

Child molesting coaches, lying quarterbacks, steroid using baseball players, lying presidents, lying Secretaries of State, lying IRS directors.

I will not support them.

God will sort'em out.

Every sport has it's own little tricks and cheat stuff. Remember Gaylord Perry, Hall of Fame spitball pitcher, corked bats, steroids, amphetamines? I remember some pros in football had stickum on their hands and jerseys. Also, some put grease or silicone on their jerseys so other guys couldn't hold them.

Lot of hypocrisy in the holier than thou reaction to "soft balls". I fully believe Brady knew exactly what was going on and either told the guys to do it or nudged them. The lying about it is more annoying to me. The Patriots disgusting, sourpuss coach who wins a lot causes the nasty reactions.

Most everyone in this world lies and cheats one time or another.....big or small. Most of us give ourselves a pass on our sins and then howl like wolves when somebody rich or famous gets caught.

I'm interested in what happens here as a study in hypocrisy.

Thanks for sharing that deep and insightful commentary.

You're very welcome. I have much more important things than this to be concerned about at the moment. I enjoy some sports (the NBA is a notable exception), but they are nowhere near the top of my list of Things To Be Agitated About Today.

Some of the things on that list are personal and some are verboten under the rules here. All concern me more than another small scandal with "-gate" attached to the name.

The Patriots' history has some funny smells about it, true. The season is over, the Super Bowl is in the record book, and I don't look for anything significant to change.

I just can't get excited about it, so I'll bow out of this thread and leave it to those of you who really do care. Not faulting you for that at all, I'm just not among your number.
