Those same regulations apply to v8 1/2 ton trucks, its only the bigger ones that they don't so Toyota has no excuse. Toyotas 1/2 ton truck shaped car is just as bed.

I bought my first diesel truck a few years ago, a '98 4X4 Chevy Suburban. The engine is an old 6.5L V8 and it doesn't have a lot of power, but I still love it. 20mpg in a big 4X4 like a Suburban is pretty good. I don't tow a lot with it; mainly just use it like a big station wagon.
