Difference between 13144 and 13568

It would appear that one has the slide cut for accepting optics while the other does not. The stock photos appear to be the same pistol, but the descriptions show one to be optics ready while the other one isn’t.

On the 13568 product description:

• M2.0 flat face trigger for consistent finger placement that allows for more accurate and repeatable shooting

Yep. Based on the product descriptions, it appears that the differences are the triggers, and the fact that one of the guns is optics ready. Pretty significant differences all things considered.

Thanks all. They're both optics ready, so it looks like the only difference it the trigger. I totally glossed over that in the pictures.

The pictures for both pistols show an optics ready version, but read the specs beneath the images of each product. One of them says that it is optics ready, and the other says that it is not. I just wouldn’t want you to order the wrong gun, as I would assume that they simply used the same photo for both product numbers.

optic ready is a option on both which will change the product number but only one has the option of a threaded barrel.

Those are the Specs for each.

If you read 13144 does NOT say “Optics Yes”.

S&W has a penchant for selling guns like a Bodyguard 380 Crimson Trace version with out Crimson Trace Laser, which is ridiculous. They also have this in revolvers.

Be careful as previously stated.

I've learned to never trust the pictures on any website. They are often wrong.

S&W also sells guns with "Range Packs" that include a case, hearing protection, eye protection, etc. Those have a different SKU. It's confusing.

There is a lot of truth to this. I often wonder if S&W doesn’t offer too many options at times. Perhaps the best way to buy a new Smith & Wesson is to request a gun by the features you want, rather than trying to pin down the specific model number. Maybe telling a dealer that you’d like an M&P M2.0 Compact with 4 inch barrel, optics ready, no thumb safety, with the most current trigger setup, suppressor height sights, and standard capacity magazines would be simpler than saying “I want SKU number __________” and hoping for the best.
