Different sights on Bodyguard 2

I spoke with XSsights.com and I have them on my Shield.

They will be out with BG 2.0 sights in the first quarter of 2025.

Ordered a Bodyguard rear sight for my 2.0. That'll take care of the wide rear slop until someone manufacturer wise steps up and makes some nice night sights.

Original Bodyguard rear installed, looking good and shoots POA.

I received my M&P Bodyguard (1.0) rear sight today. I noticed that the gap in the rear sight is narrower than the front sight of the BG 2.0. I pulled out my sight pusher, and the slide was too tiny to fit properly in the contraption notwithstanding several workaround attempts. I drove down to the local gun store figuring the gunsmith would swap out the rear sight in 15 minutes. He wouldn't touch it. He said the Bodyguards had tight tolerances and the last one he dealt with had to be sent to S&W. He said it isn't hard to damage the slide. There's probably a story in that.

How did you remove the factory sight and install the new one? A vise and a punch for both procedures?

Thanks for any help that you or others can provide!

Basic clamp vise, cardboard, brass punches. Not difficult but my gunsmith hammer didn't have enough heft so I used a regular hammer.

I tried to get the rear sight off the gun. It was really tight, and I chickened out after hitting the punch harder than I expected to need to without the sight moving. I'll just wait until the aftermarket produces better sights and I find a gunsmith who will install them.

Mine took a good whack, used normal hammer with mass when toddler gunsmith hammer failed BUT with brass punch, cleans up easily, understand your apprehension though, was my first time too!

Nice to know info, my local gunsmith moved my BG 2.0 sights with no issues.

You would think in a perfect world, sights would be tappy tap but that's never been the case for me with several guns even using sight pushers. I will say when I installs new sights, I file them them down to fit properly and those behind me that chose to change my sights don't need a wrecking ball, lol.
