What are the differences between a 66 & 686 with 2.5" barrel

Frame size and weight. 686 is built on the L frame which is larger and weighs more. The 66 is build on a K frame. 686 also has a full lug.

620.

Just kidding. What tocohillsguy said. Also, there are rare but not uncommon cases of forcing cone cracking from firing lightweight .357 bullets (about 125 grain or less) in the K frame 357's. Most will tell you it does not damage but some feel strongly about it. Do a thread search if it makes a difference to you.
