What is the difference in the M and P 15 OR tactical semi automatic rifle and the M and P 15 TS tactical semi automatic rifle? Thanks for any help you can be.

The S&W website linked above has an limited description of the M&P's

The barrels are made out of different steel, I'm not sure whats going on with the safeties, the TS has a free float hand guard with a full rail and comes with sights, thinking the gas blocks are also different.

But that's all just what I can see from the pictures and description on the web site. No mention of what triggers they put in these things.

What do you mean "I'm not sure whats going on with the safeties"? Triggers are standard, mil-spec type trigger. Barrel differences are covered on the web page, as well as other items, such as handguards and stocks.

there is no picture of the left side of the TS to see what the safety and bolt release look like to compare with the other one.
I did not see a description of the triggers so thanks for the heads up on them being Mil Spec.

I don't mean to imply that I am bashing S&W. Simply making an observation that they could be more detailed on the specs for their fine M&P AR's

Safety and bolt release are also standard type. If they upgrade them, they will call it out in the specs... if nothing is stated, then assume standard type.

One thing I have learned over times with S&W specs is that they sometimes change the product without updating the web site. Changes such as twist rate on the Sport barrel come to mind. So before you put down your money, make sure to check carefully and insure that you are getting what you thought you would be.

I dont know what price your getting the smith tactical for. But I think if I was gonna spend upwards of 1200 it would be bcm or dd. I love my moe mid length. but it was sub 850 otd. The other post telling you to check the specs prior to purchase is spot on imo.
