Forcing cone is flat on the bottom and some lead build-up, I'll guess a 617 in .22LR

That looks just like my 22LR model 617 that I spent a lot of time cleaning yesterday after my range trip. I get lots of lead and crud building up there on the frame at the B/C gap and around the forcing cone. A bronze brush gets some of it but I am going to try to fashion a scraper from a bronze shell casing.

My guess is a model 18. Your 22 is blued, has no ejector rod shroud or full lug, a 17’s barrel doesn’t reduce in diameter near the frame and, as previously posted, the flat cut for yoke clearance makes it a k frame.

I delead a .22 forcing cone with a short piece of pencil and bronze wool. I cut a groove down the side of the pencil’s sharpened end to grip the wool while it’s rotated by hand. I use a finger tip and wool the clean the rear end of the barrel but repeated use of bronze wool removes bluing.

You guys are pretty amazing at getting this stuff right from odd pics.
It's a model 17 -9 modern classic.
I'm very pleased with it, I was worried when I bought it because it is MIM IL.


Jaymo, it's a $30 USB endoscope/borescope I got off of Newegg. They have quite a selection. This one is 7mm diameter with a flexible shaft.
The mods ding me every time I link something, so if you want more info let me know and I will PM it to you.

The diameter of the camera head ranges (depending on model) from 10 to 15 mm on the listings I saw... that's a little fat for most of our bores, isn't it? It sure would be nice to find a camera head around 7 mm so it could actually go through our bores. What was the model/item number of your 7 mm unit?

Although I've never been into katoeys, the scary thing is that so many of them are more attractive than your average American woman. I take it you've been to The Land of Smiles, my favorite country outside the USA. I even found a decent range in Pattaya.

I've never been, but I've always preferred to date Asian women.
My uncle lived there for a while and told me about the katoeys.
Yeah, some of them look more like a woman than most women.
My wife won't let me go to Thailand for a "fun" vacation.
Something about her being jealous of other women.
