Does anyone here use the old 32 round promags for their 15-22. I am looking at buying some but I want to make sure they are worth the extra money. I can get them for about 29.50 ea shipped if I get 10 or more but thats more then double the price for plinker tactical 35 round mags or the factor 25 rounders I can find online. However these arent made anymore so Im guessing once they are gone they are gone.....

Are they worth the price....

Also, If anyone wants in on the deal feel free to pm me but you must live in a free state. :D

I don't have any of the ProMags for the .22lr, but I have a few of them for the .223. A couple of them have started to stretch but a couple of others are fine.

I have them for my beretta 92 and 96 in 20 and 32 round extended and the 9mm's run great but the .40 S&W is ****. I just dont want to spend big coin on new mags that dont work that well.

I haven't heard a lot good about the ProMag brand in general.

If you are looking for mags, Gunmagwarehouse.com has the S&W 25 round ones on sale for $12.99 currently.

Yeah I saw that. I have factory and plinker mags but I have heard good things about the promag 15-22 mags just not sure if I want to buy 10. LOL

The promags for the 15-22 are good which is odd considering their poor reputation for their .223 ar mags. Probably the next best thing to the 15-22 original SW mags. They were offered during the great 15-22 mag shortage of years gone by, but were discontinued after SW filed a patent infringement complaint against promag and plinker tactical. Plinker settled with SW while promag simply stopped production.

Even during the mag shortage the promags were going for less than 29.99, so I would not buy them at that price considering oem and the plinker alternatives can be found for substantially less.

I've purchased promag stuff in the past. Never had good luck with them or their customer service.

(In one case, I told them they had a problem with the follower not holding the bolt open in a rifle when the mag was empty. They claimed they didn't have a problem. I told them what they needed to do to fix the issue.. The CS person said they had licensed gunsmiths working for them, asked if I was a licensed gunsmith and again said they didn't have a problem. about 4 months later they made the changes the design of the follower that I suggested. They released it without mentioning it was a new part so people couldn't be sure they were getting the new model when ordering online.)

Thanks to those that PM'ed me and offered info on the 15-22 mags. Not the info on pro mag itself. The reason is that just as I thought the promag 15-22 mags are actually some of the best mags around and they are the only flawless high capacity mags anyone can find. Most rank them up there with the OEM mags. Granted plinkers and oem mags can be had for half the price but if you want reliability and high round count these are the way to go.

Im off to pick some up I guess.

Also as already stated these mags weren't discontinued for being junk they were discontinued due to patent infringement.

If that's actually the case then its the only thing that company got right. All their other products are complete garbage

Bought five. Have been excellent. Slightly more capacity which my daughter enjoys. Gave a 15-22 to my brother and his son for Christmas w/ some S&W and Promags. Work with all ammo types they've used. HTH. Sincerely. bruce.

I have about 25 Plinker Tactical mags. What are these "improved" mags you speak of?

Plinker made two different mags. The first version had a bit of a tough spring that required lots of breaking in. The second version fixed this problem. he originals will probably still be stiff today thats how tough that first versions spring was.

Mine came in and they are easy to load and seem like they are gunna work great. Fully loaded they actually hold 33 rounds not 32 and they are lighter then the plinker mags so they should help the slide fire function too.

Only thing I noticed so far is that they seem a bit wider then factory as they wont drop out of the rifle on their own when the mag release is pressed. Other then that I still need to shoot them.
