my TV where the sat box is just has a blue screen with unuseable signal on it. the other TV is getting the signal fine so i know the feed is getting to the box. did the unplug, reset etc. called DISH twice: first time all the girl told me she could do was lower my bill by selling me a one time good deal protection package for 79.00 and when i asked if she could connect me to technical support she said no she couldn't. calmed down a while and called back. this time got a guy that wanted to tell me all about the protection plan before he would help me. told me to do all the same things i had done and then tried to sell me an ADT plan. i told him i had two home security systems: S&W and Winchester. told him he was usless and hung up. rant over. lee

I had Dish for years and years...suddenly the service started acting up..Dish sent guys out twice to fix it...got it better than it crashed again..and they sent guys out twice more and didn't accomplish much.

Worse...the last Dish guy started blowing smoke up my rear that the problem was the power in my house...I had 'dirty power' "call the power company to check your power"...so I did...power was fine.

I called Direct TV and got a new system that works...

What type of connection do you have between the sat box and the tv with the blue screen? What connection do you have between the sat box and the tv that works? I assume that you're using the one sat box for both tv's?

If you're using HDMI to the blue screen and coax cable to the other tv, there could be a problem with the HDMI output on the sat box, the HDMI cable, or the HDMI input on the TV. Have you tried a different cable, or used different HDMI ports?

I had Dish until late July. I exited and went with AT&T U-verse. No regrets.

Dish sent me several emails, and even called to try and retain me. They offered over $400 in discounts; but where were these offers before I left?

We have had Dish Network for 10 years and the only problems we have had is some times it takes off and runs all the channels and you cant make it stop and every so often it says "Smart card not inserted correctly" that kind of sets me off but genraly they have been pretty good. Jeff

Lee, you may have take more drastic action.

We had Dish and had a few problems. Then we switched to Direct TV. All kinds of problems. No reception or bad reception. DVR didn't always record.

This went on for a year and a half. Twice they sent someone out and threatened to charge us. Both technicians blamed the previous technician for wrong adjustment of the dish.

After 15-20 phone calls and online support, I was tired of getting my rear chewed by the wife. I called and cancelled. They said there would be a early termination fee. I argued with them and said fine, I'll pay it.

They came out and diconnected me while Comcast hooked us up.
I got a bill for the early termination fee. I never paid it. I ignored it. Then they sent it to collections.

So....... I emailed the Washington State AG. About 13 weeks later I recieved a letter from the president of Direct. He apologized, waived the fee and he had the collections erased from my credit report.

all better now. wifey just told me tried to turn it on in the dark this morning and may have hit something. after trying everything near the power button it came on when i hit input and then tv. got to write that one down. why didn't the dish idiots tell me that? lee
