ditching froglube.. need help guys

If your frog is starting to smell funny you can use
warm water and Dawn Dishwashing Liquid
to give him a bath. Rinse well, pat his little behind dry
with a soft towel. Deodorant is optional.

You will have to re-lube him with something though. :D

When using Frog Lube- they tell you on the stuff, less is more. Once you slather it on, take 99% of it back off.
I have found FL makes slides on heavy framed pistols glide absolutely like butter. But it holds gunk, so it's not really ideal for firing pin applications, and small springs and detents are not the best place for it.

In the end, I use whatever oil is around. I clean with Hoppes, and I oil with Mobil, Slip, Remoil, 3 in 1, Tetra oil, and whatever I have at the moment. But yeah, on the glides on a 1911...... FL is pretty darn hard to beat.

Been using Tetragun for years. Good stuff.

Had a sales guy doctor my gun with Froglube. I was impressed.

Shot a few hundred rounds without a hitch. Did not clean the gun. Shot another few hundred rounds the next weekend. No problems. When I cleaned the gun later that day, it was barely dirty.

But it only works well IF you follow the directions.

Will I buy it? No. Too many steps involved. Too expensive. And what I use now has been working just fine.
