:) Does anyone do your own pest control? I have been using a company in the town I live in and they are supposed to be among the best. They are spraying every three months and I am having to call them back every quarter. The call backs are free but it's just a hassle. All I have for pest are bugs and spiders so I think I can do as good a job as they do and cheaper. If you do your on pest control what online company do you buy from and what chemical do you use? Demonmax

Howdy,
I use Demonmax cypermethrin and use as directed. You can find it on line in concentrate.
It is a keeps on killing chemical as opposed to a kill on contact and has worked well for me .
I spray the outside of the house spring and fall to about three feet up and out, doors and windows and under the eaves.
It is about $30-35 a pint but will last a good while as the most I use is 2 oz. to a gallon.
Thanks
Mike

I've done business with this company for years and vouch for them with no reservations. I use Cyonara 9.7 inside and out because it works.

I've ordered from the same place. I bought Suspend SC from Bayer. It works well on the spiders and bugs that get into the house, and also works for about six months. Occasionally, we'll bring in a large roach from the grocery store or somewhere, and they'll be on their backs wiggling their legs shortly. It looks like it's gone up in price since I bought it, but a pint has done two houses for three years and is only half gone.

1. Have you tried reasoning with them? It costs you nothing, and if it doesn't work, you are no worse off than when you began.

2. By your presence on this forum, I suspect you own a firearm. Identify a ringleader and make an example of it

3. Bear in mind that long after human habitation is a faint memory on the face of this Earth there will still be spiders.

:) All I have for pest are bugs and spiders . . .

That broadens your choice of chemicals. My primary target is scorpions and there are only a couple of chemicals that are effective on them. I use CY-Kick CS and I know it's effective on scorpions as well as on other 6 and 8 legged creatures.

I used to pay $69 a month for this guy to spray. However, we'd still see scorpions inside the house. He used a different chemical, Demand CS, but I don't think it was the chemical that was ineffective; it was his technique. He'd show up with his sprayer then apply the chemical around the external doors, and inside the house where I reported seeing the bugs.

The bugs didn't just get in through the outside doors. They climbed up the walls, into the attic, then dropped out of the light fixtures. My previous pest control guy claimed that scorpions can fit through a thin crack barely big enough to slide a credit card through.

I bought an inexpensive sprayer (on sale), bought the CY-Kick CS online, then started spraying the recommended concentration around the entire perimeter, on three feet of ground and 2 feet along the wall. I knew that there were scorpions already in the attic and we saw a couple of them inside the house over the next 3 weeks. However, none have shown up since. I only do it once every quarter.

Make sure you use protection such as gloves, mask or respirator, etc. The guy that used to spray here didn't have any protection at all, and he was weird. Spray on windless days, or always stay upwind. Some of these chemicals, even in trace amounts, are also lethal to pollinators such as bees.

Does anyone have info on using Osage Orange balls (hedge apples) for spider control? Living in Seattle, we have nothing like this, however I do have a small osage bush growing in the yard - probably need another for polination though. John

From deep in Florida where bug killin' is paramount skill..

DEMON WP works wonders.. one water soluable packet dropped in a sprayer with one gallon of warm water..shake well, and your good.. spray the doorways and along all the baseboards..

Your local DIY exterminator shop should have it.. ( NOT Home Depot or Lowes)

If it can't be shipped to NEW YORK you know it's good stuff!!

Demon WP Insecticide kills large roaches, spiders, crickets and more. Demon WP Insecticide has been a number one seller for many years due to it's convenience of use. Simply drop the packets in the envelope in water (they dissolve). Demon WP Insecticide contains cypermethrin 40% and works well for a variety of insects, lasting up to 3 months.

Can't be shipped to CT or NY
