Do All 2.0’s Have The Same Trigger?

I’m shopping, and renting different pistols to see what works best for me. I’m having trouble finding a range that has an M&P9 M2.0 with 4” barrel to fire. I can find Shields and 3.6”, but not 4”. A friend has a Shield and I really liked the feel of the trigger. Smooth. So I’m wondering would all M2.0’s have this same feel?

Does the new Shield have the hinged trigger? Quick look says "yes". For some reason I thought it was changed on the Shield.

In that case the answer to the OP's question is "yes", all the 2.0 pistols have the same trigger.

I noticed in shopping for Shields and 1.0 full size models that there was a wide variance in the feel of triggers between even the same models. Because there are four components in the trigger system that interact with each other, any roughness in any or all of these parts will translate into rough, gritty pulls with varying pull weights.

IOW, you will likely find some variations in trigger pulls of mass manufactured guns. The 2.0 has gotten consistently good reviews, especially compared to 1.0 earlier versions, being smoother and better, even lighter. However, without some polishing, through wear or some actual manual effort, you may not reach the full potential of the stock 2.0 trigger until some time after you use it.

They have the same designed hinged trigger systems but different dimensions because the models differ in size. 2.0 trigger improvements over 1.0 triggers was done by sear and striker block (machining) improvements to get rid of the gritty feel. I am not familiar enough with PC and CORE models to tell you what the trigger improvements are if any, however there is no CORE 2.0 yet. Also I have no experience with the 380EZ.

The Shields, at least the Shield 45, still retains the trigger loop, which can be tweaked to adjust where the sear breaks in the trigger stroke. My M&PC 9mm 2.0 3.6" does not have the trigger loop. No adjustments to be had. The flat trigger package comes with an oversize disconnect that has the sear breaking towards the front of the trigger stroke. If you install the standard Apex kit, the sear breaks way to the rear of the trigger stroke. Waiting for Apex to just offer the oversize disconnect, which can then be adjusted to the desired breaking point. However, unlike the trigger loop, there is no going back once the adjustment is made.
