The forward momentum of the arrow would counteract the recoil of the powerhead to a large degree. Maybe not fully, but it isn't just going to reverse directions without a fight.

First law and all that.

Despite being lightweight, and slower moving than a bullet, arrows still carry a good deal of kinetic energy. If they didn't they couldn't penetrate the hide/tissue of a game animal.

At 0:26 in the video, you can see one of their arrows was not even kicked back out of the wound.

Is it a good idea? I don't know. Just how much energy is a bullet from what is basically just a chamber with almost no barrel have? Is it more lethal than a well placed broadhead?

The propellent gas, released into the hog, should have a devastating effect.

I've been told, by cops that have been there, that a contact wound, from a 2" snubbie, drops them like a lightening bolt.
