I'm 68, soon to be 69. I hope. There are a few autos that I carry on a regular basis. I also carry a 642, a Colt Agent, or more recently a M66-2 2.5". The latter is my favorite to shoot, but I've got to decide on a good OWB holster for it. It's heavy. I know the 66 loaded with some .38/44 type loads will take care of business if needed. The lightweight guns with .38+P will likely do as well, but the K frame can do it better.

I have a 360PD AirLite that is my constant AIWB carry weapon. It's super light weight makes carrying it completely natural and unnoticed. I can even clip it to my sweatpant's elastic band without sagging for home carry.
The recoil is of course quite vicious and I have a 340 Pro Series (all steel) that I shoot. The AirLite has been fitted with some CT laser grips that, besides providing a quick aim point, also has a cushioning air channel covering the backstrap that absorbs some of the painful recoil.
The snubby is my primary carry weapon, but I sometimes also carry a Kimber Ultra Carry as backup to it when I feel that five shots may not be enough. (although I do carry a speed strip with five more).
I've also got a 9mm CS9 Chief's Special that takes the place of the Kimber when I want to downsize my backup gun. But my favorite 9mm auto is a 3914 LadySmith.

I'll have you know that I'm a young 78 and carry a PPKS built by S&W only because it lies flatter than my 36s. Love shooting all my revolvers and 1911 types. Can still see the front sights and usually make the youngsters at the range look up and pay attention! Also, really like seeing more lady shooters at the range and have run into quite a few who can shoot circles around some of those young male know-it-alls!

Before I started pocket CC'ing EDC,i rotated automatics and a revolvers.
Sadly, it seems that most of the younger generation ( I checked your profile and you ain't one of them) gravitate to the soulless foreign invaders instead of a quality firearm. By the time they figure it out they are they have become one of us "elderly gentlemen". Learnin' takes more time for some of us than others.
I'm 30, and I own but two pistols, one being a Ruger Mk III. I can't think of many more I'd want. Maybe a Glock 30. I already have a 1911, so all I'd want is a dedicated smith'd-up lower for my .22 conversion to shoot bullseye with.
Wheelguns, though, that's a different matter. My lottery list:

-a Model 38 Bodyguard
-a 69 Combat Magnum
-More K-38s...as in, as many as I can find

I like semiautos. I really do. But I have a 1911, and beyond the Glock 30, I'm just not interested in any more. I can't appreciate the fine nuances. Revolvers, though--that's a bottomless pit of irrational hunger.
And for CCW, there's simply no question. .38 snubbies all the way. If you're worried about capacity and reload...bring two.

Almost 66 and I carry either a SD9VE or Tristar C100. Never have carried a revolver although I am looking for a .32 Mag revolver for my wife. She is 70 with arthritis getting a bit tough on her. She has problems manually racking a slide..... if in an emergency she had to clear the weapon because of a FTF or FTE. I am finding a .32 revolver is hard to find, and not real cheap. Found one used .....S&W in a LGS...$475!!

Are you old enough to know of Bill Jordon and his excellent book "No Second Place Winner"? He pointed out that if he and another met in an alley, both drew and fired at the same time, both had a bad round under the hammer, he had a revolver and the other had an autoloader, "other" was dead. Pulling the trigger to bring a fresh round under the hammer is infinitely faster than tap, rack, bang.

Eb07, you are fight on. My sons started shooting both revolvers and semiautos (and rifles and shotguns) with me when they were just little guys. Now they are older, but both have enjoyed and owned revolvers most of their lives. Quality revolvers offer some unique advantages over autos, but just to be safe, I own lots of both. By the way, one might make the same observation about females vs males (regarding which type of gun they prefer to carry).

It's definitely not only old guys who edc revolvers. I'm 22, and the gun I carry most frequently is my Highway Patrolman from 1954. As far as handguns go, I own 6 revolvers and 3 autos. Two of the autos are little pocket pistols, only one of which gets carried, and only as a backup to the HP or if I need to wear a shirt tucked in. The other auto is a full size Beretta, which I probably wouldn't even own if it didn't shoot so well. I'm a revolver guy through and through, and apparently I have been since I was about 6. My dad says I kept asking him to buy one so I could shoot one (he had other guns, just not revolvers). The HP goes pretty much everywhere with me, and I get to open carry it when I go to work at the local gun shop. A lot of the customers are impressed and happy to see a younger guy carrying a revolver. One of my co-workers there, also 22, also has a revolver for edc, but his is a newer M&P 340

I turn 65 real soon and I carry an LCR 357 loaded with 38spl+P. It has been my everyday carry since I bought it 5 years ago. I like it fits in my jeans pocket easily along with the safety and reliability over a semi auto make it my choice for carry.
The trigger on the LCR even though is DAO is the best trigger on any revolver I have shot except my Colt Python.
I have a Kimber Ultra Carry ll 45acp that I just love the feel in my hand and its size but I just don't like the safety of the 1911 cocked and locked carry so it stays in my bed side table.
I sold off most of my semi autos and now revolvers are the main stay for me.

At 62, my edc is this M640-1. It's recently been joined by a "no lock" M&P340.

This thread reminds me of the movie, "The Way of the Gun," where ol' James Caan's character totters around in his "Members Only" jacket and with a J frame S&W while everybody else has shotguns, 1911s, and a Galil.

Being 74 , I own only one slide gun ,a Bodyguard 380 (has had the galloway treatment ) really like it , also have a 22,32, 38 and a new S&W model 327 2 inch which I am learning to cc the 380 is fine but like the 327 better LOL Just an old People thing ,.
