I like and enjoy my two current S&W revolvers AND my squirt gun, Tupperware tactical, brass belching Barbi jamming plastic P.O.S's that have been faithful companions from the late 80's through the day I retired from a career in L.E. and continue to serve today.

To denigrate their value because one prefers to carry something else is ignorant at best and disappointing coming from folks who should know better and whose posts I ordinarily respect.

65 and gone back to my 36 or Mountain Gun in the winter. Love my 1911(s) but I don't like shooting them any more. Just hate picking up the brass. So I've become a revolver fanatic.

I'm thinking that windsong and I are doing some good natured tongue in cheek jibes, and not to be taken quite so seriously.

I do feel that the takeover of Polymer in firearms has denigrated the value of firearms in general. Injection molding machines have displaced the craftsmanship that it took to create fine firearms that can be works of art.

Having said that, I fully understand that others appreciate the weight savings and established reliability that they have been proven to have. So carry what you are proficient with and don't worry about what the naysayers might post.

We're fine, digiroc, and I saw your "like". I'm so used to folks using emoticons / smileys or whatever these days that if someone doesn't use 'em I'm not sure whether they are making a comment in jest or not.

Hey, I started my LE career with model 15, 36 and 19 and later a S&W 6906 was one of my first semi-auto's issued. (First was a gov't model, series 70 Colt.)

I get it and I appreciate the craftsmanship and beauty of revolvers. I also appreciate anything that flat out works and keeps (or at least kept) my *** alive on the street.

So I guess what I'm saying is that I appreciate 'em all. And I also appreciate your taking the time to express your thoughts as well.

Am 60 and carry 45 acp every day. Either xds or lightweight commander. Am starting to prepare for onsite of older age, and sold off multiple safe queens for the transition. Then bought a glock 19, just to see what all the last century was all about. Just got some 33 round mags, for funzies.

Like they say with old age comes much wisdom learning from mistakes. My CC is also a revolver, an LCR 357.

Isn't it strange that on most gun forums that the forum is based on a manufacturer that makes revolvers and semi autos that the forum topics and discussions are often more about the revolvers. It seems the pic of collections are big on revolvers.

I would say the reason that is so is that while ruger and s&w make the most popular revolvers their semi's don't rate the same. A man that carries a glock or a 1911 semi and wants a revolver must chose between one of the previous mentioned to get the same quality they are accustomed. I don't know if I am explaining it correctly.

I am 46 and carry either a .32 or .38 J frame. I have semi autos but always go back to the revolvers. Easy to carry and my wife is comfortable shooting them in case the need arises, which hopefully it never will.

I will admit, though, that when I shoot my friend's Glock, I always wonder why I don't have one yet. It would be a tucked away, emergency survival tool, not to be carried on a daily basis. I still haven't forced myself to part with the money for one of those, though. Apparently, I don't want one bad enough.
