I think that I know the answer, I just need to hear it from the experts. (I'm not ready to admit to myself that I just wasted $84.95 + shipping on a set of grips that will do nothing but collect dust.)

The Hogue's look marginally better - a bit to modern though on such a classic revolver.

Cocked & Locked got it right with the stag magnas. The magna style in wood, stag or ivory is the only way to go on the short magnum!

Beautiful Revolvers!!!!!

Sorry I voted for the Hogues. The only factory grips that fit my hands are the early cokes and I hate shooting a gun with them cuz I'm afraid of breaking them. Your target grips are the late model full relief which are way bigger than cokes and feel like a brick unless you have hands the size of Andre the giant.

I voted for the factory targets simply because I can't abide grips with finger grooves. My favorite grips are the Classic Ropers from Herretts. I will be ordering some of Executioner's stag grips for an N frame those; they are flat classy!

I feel about the same as 29aholic, except that I am NOT sorry I voted for the Hogues. I do generally like the classic look of factory grips, and have Magnas and a Tyler on most of my revolvers, but Targets? on an N frame? No way. I have a beautiful 4" 29-2 which, at present, is close to being a safe queen, but it has Pachmayr Presentations (no Pach medallion) on it. To me, it looks like a real classic revolver that can be used for a lot of different things. With factory targets, it would look to me like the ablution that it would feel like in my hand.

Hogues.

I voted factory target. I'm a traditional kind of guy and prefer targets on all my Smiths. Those are exceptional.

The factory targets are beautiful and look "just right" on that particular gun. If you still think you wasted your money email me and you'll break even.

What are you, my wife...no, the fat makes you look fat.
I keep factory grips on all mine; but, the only guns I shoot with full power loads are my stainless guns which have Hogue's. Have you tried a pair of magnas?

I know what you mean, the target stocks make a gun with a 4" or less barrel look like the back end is bigger than the front end. But, I really dislike the way Hogues look on any gun.

I am sure, if you look around, you can find some functional targets that are "lookers" too. Like Kurac's customer stocks.

Just my humble opinion.

To me short barreled revolvers look better and feel better in my small hand with smooth magnas !

I no longer shoot full-power loads though and that must be factored in.

Those are some of the most horrendous grips I've ever seen.

However, I would like to buy them. Are they for sale?

I will do one better, I will take them off your hands for free!
That way they won't collect dust in your grip box. I'll even be nice and let you pay the postage, so you won't feel guilty.

I like the look of the factory targets, but they fell terrible in my hand, I've never kept a pair of factory targets on a S&W.
As a matter of fact, I've never bought a used S&W that didn't at least come with an extra set of grips. That's if the factory targets even came with the gun.

My magnas are crafted by Don Collins.

They are fatter than factory magnas and fit my hand well !
